The Lodge Communal Facilities
The Lodge is where everyone tends to migrate during the day. To relax, recharge your cellphone, or have a dip in our pool. We have the following facilities available for all guests:
Book in at our friendly Reception Area where we also have a small variety of African Game Lodge momentos, branded clothing and utility items for sale. In this area, we also promote local goods and display brochures of things to do in the area.
Lounge and Conference Centre
Our spacious lounge is ideal for relaxing during the day or evening. We have a small library of reference books available for you to read in the lounge. Satellite TV is available and most often on a Saturday afternoon, we switch to the sports channel. 220Volt power is available for you to charge your cellphone or camera batteries at the lodge. The Conference Centre is suitable for small groups of 15-20 delegates and the room is decorated with artifacts that we have found on the reserve.
Dining Room and Lodge
Meals are served in the Dining area for guests who are booked Full Board or with meal plans options. If you are self-catering and wish to book for a meal, this can be arranged at Reception. We serve hearty, healthy South African fare and we can cater for vegetarians. The premises are licensed to sell liquor and we stock a variety of excellent local wines from Montagu Wine & Spirits Co.
Garden & Pool Area
Our grassed area by the pool has various seating options to allow you to enjoy the outdoors. Whether you are there to read a book, or enjoy a glass of wine, the silence and space will be something that you remember. When the weather is good, we like to take advantage of the fresh air and stunning views, and some of our meals are served here.
During the warm summer months, the pool is ideal for a refreshing dip, and during winter, stretch out on the sun loungers to soak up the morning sun.
Montagu is blessed with stunning weather, and we have created the Sun Terrace which is ideal for breakfasts and reading a book in the late afternoons. Vines have been planted to create some shade.
The Boma is an ideal area to congregate in the evening. At times we cook from the fire, using traditional South African recipes.
Enjoy your breakfast when the weather is at its best in our Breakfast Patio, which is also great in the late afternoons, to sit and enjoy a sundowner.
