Welcome to

African Game Lodge

In a pristine valley surrounded by the spectacular Langeberg Mountains, lies African Game Lodge, part of a conservation project dedicated to Wildlife Rehabilitation, Awareness and preserving Bio-diversity. We are conveniently located only two and a half-hours from Cape Town and a 30-minute drive from picturesque Montagu.

We share our space with a host of animals both big and small. Through careful management of the environment, we are encouraging the return of many endemic species. The reserve has a wealth of bird-life and bio-diversity, offering guests the opportunity to experience the varied yet specialised eco-systems of the Little Karoo.

If you love the environment as much as we do, you will be pleased to know that African Game Lodge is completely off the grid. Running an extensive solar system, our sustainable approach ensures that we support local and global impact. At African Game Lodge, our guests can enjoy nature without expense to the environment through our sustainable approach and off-the-grid solar solution.
African Game Lodge is a private conservation area outside Montagu in the Little Karoo, Western Cape dedicated to preserving the rich biodiversity of the area.

Brilliant place away from everything called city life and work … no cell phone reception (wifi available at the lodge) Sooo peaceful, relaxing and the animals and birds are all you hear. We enjoyed beautiful walks and veiws every morning and self catering on our terrace braai with a veiw of Eland and ostriches popping by. Definately a great self catering getaway. Breakfast and dinner is available. Monwa is an excellent host and an absolutely wonderful ambassador for the nature reserve. Thank you Monwa.

This is quite a special place. Remote, Rustic and genuine. If you like walking, you will be happy; if you like the isolation with nature you will be happy. If you want the joy of deep blue skies, clear starry nights, cold crisp sunrises or long languorous sunsets then African Game Lodge will meet your needs.

Absolutely amazing place for couples or families and Monwa is a great host with great knowledge and passion for what he does, and a hustler in snooker. We will definitely be back but next time with the kids.

We stayed there for 6 days and this was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. It was so peaceful. The food was amazing and then there is Monwa… what can I say.. he was as amazing as the place. I would definitely recommend staying at African Game Lodge, if you are looking for a quiet place out of the city and away from everything. Go ahead and experience what we experienced.

Pack for a

PURPOSE

“Why not make a difference, this getaway.”

The children from Come To Learn Creche excitedly display their warm mittens, gloves and goodies received to ward off the cold. These desperately needed gifts were received from one of our guests staying at African Game Lodge who “packed for a purpose”. This little creche operating out a container, keeps the children safe whilst their parents go out to work in a desperately poor community.

Join our honoured group of guests, who kindly donated to this initiative.
